The Colorado Walks team has produced a wide variety of walking, running, and other types of events. One of our primary organizational goals is to establish "Official Downtown Miles" in cities and towns throughout Colorado. These will become part of America's Downtown Mile Race Series and be fashioned after the Pearl Street Mile model in Boulder, Colorado.
Sample events include:
- Pearl Street Mile in Boulder, CO - Created by Colorado Walks co-founder, Jan Ward, the Pearl Street Mile is a family-oriented walk/run, one mile in length.
- America's Downtown Mile Race Series - Jan is taking the Pearl Street Mile model nationwide as cities ask to be part of the nationwide series
- Coordination of community partners throughout Colorado to promote:
- Colorado Bike Month and Bike to Work Day
- Walk to School Day
- Canine Companions for Independence - Fundraising Benefit (500 attendees, 3 hours, net $134,000)
- Dinosaur Ridge - Annual dinner and silent auction
