Colorado Walks is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to improving walking conditions in cities and town across Colorado. Founded in 2003, we:
- Bring pedestrian issues to the forefront of state and local transportation discussions
- Promote and develop walking programs and events to keep Coloradans motivated and jazzed about walking
- Present annual Golden Footprint Awards to individuals and organizations in Colorado for outstanding pedestrian achievements in the areas of health, fitness, and transportation
- Establish local affiliate groups in cities and counties to institutionalize sustainable walking programs and pedestrian friendly policies.
The old saying, "Strength in Numbers" couldn't be more appropriate in relation to helping Colorado Walks achieve its mission. When you become a member, volunteer, or donor, it strengthens our voice and fortifies our position as the statewide resource for pedestrian issues. We welcome your participation and support as individuals, communities, organizations, and businesses.

The conveniences of the 21st Century have essentially engineered walking out of our daily routines. As a result, we are less healthy, less active, and our waistlines are growing. Colorado Walks believes that all Coloradans should be able to use our original mode of transportation – walking – anytime, anywhere.
Walking is good for you, your family, your dog, and your community. It should be safe and easy to do for people of all ages and abilities. Pedestrian activity makes neighborhoods neighborly, creates thriving and interesting business districts, and can be a crime deterrent.
We invite you to support Colorado Walks mission to create pedestrian-friendly environments, where walking for everyday activities is the norm, not the exception.
Call us to help you get started on a walking program or to help your community become more walkable.
