Jan has over fifteen years of experience in the development and coordination of individual and corporate wellness programs in private health clubs and for international corporations such as Nike, Inc. in Beaverton, Oregon and Ball Corporation in Boulder, Colorado.
She led the development of Transportation Demand Management (TDM) programs for the City of Boulder since 1994. The crown jewel of the TDM program was Colorado's first Transportation Resource Center, a storefront, community outreach center in downtown Boulder. Jan's extensive list of initiatives includes Walk Our Children to School, the Year of the Pedestrian, and the Boulder Races Series, which includes the Pearl Street Mile - celebrating its tenth season in 2006. The Boulder Race Series consists of three walk/run events highlighting health and community in Boulder's distinctive pedestrian districts. Jan's most recent success is the development of America's Downtown Mile Race Series, which includes the Pearl Street Mile, Mountain Mile in Fort Collins, Twin Cities Mile in Minneapolis, and the Main Street Mile in Boise, Idaho. |
